I'm after advice from others who have already fitted their GRP rear panels. I've got a full equinox body kit on order. Looking at the rear panel it seems to 'wrap over' the top rail by a good distance. At the moment my roll bar rear stays are as per the book, ie coming down at the correct angle to meet a plate which is attached to the top rail. Does this need moving further in board or is it better to cut an appropriate chunk out of the GRP? Does anyone have pics of their 'back ends' :-)

John, I may be completely wrong here (read probably) but I don't recall seeing anyone with a fitted equinox kit yet, so it might be better to have a chat with Dave/Ben to see what they've based it on.

If you are the first then you get to showcase it :D

Eeek!!! Never wanted to be a pioneer! At least not with the first car I've ever built!

The fiberglass rear tub is effectively self supporting so u do not need the rear framework that would support the aluminium panels. There is a drawing of this mod on the other forum.I have it stored on my laptop and will post if required. You can then brace the rollbar supports on the lower modified framework and this will not interfere with the fiberglass panel in any way. Hope that makes some sense.

Cheers, the email came through but I've had a hectic couple of days so hadn't found time to reply, appreciate you sending it across. I see what you mean about loosing the top rail, but where would the rear roll bar stays anchor ?

Had another look/read, would you have them coming right down into the 'floor of the boot' for want of a better way to describe it...?

Yes. I have welded some 5mm plate between the lower rear brace(fuel tank area) outer and the end piece of box section. This has 2 holes drilled in it so that when i make the rollbar i will make a plate for the lower rollbar supports that bolts onto said plate and the rollbar support welded to this in case i need to remove.
