Hello all!

My name is Rob. I'm an American Soldier stationed in Germany. I would love to build my own Locost. I am just gathering lots and lots of information for now.

I hope to get involved here in Europe and get more familiar with these awesome cars! I have never even sat in one yet.

My plans are to build a Haynes type chassis using the Chrysler Slant 6 engine. A little different, but that is the way I "lean"... :-)

I have also registered on locostbuilders.co.uk and locostUSA. I'm about to try again to register on the Haynes forum thanks to a post by garyt giving the latest way to register.

Looking forward to learning more and getting involved!

Rob

I received a username and password for the Haynes forum!... But it doesn't work... I've emailed the WebMaster back (Tim Woodcock) to try and get it sorted out.

Thank you all for the warm welcome.

I'll be looking for a couple good events to go to in the UK. I've gotten one suggestion so far. Starting to plan... :-)

hi Rob, as you said about visiting Scotland here is a suggestion for you and your good lady,
http://www.highlandcaterhamhire.co.uk/
it isn't a cheap option but would give you an insight into 7 life, you could fly into Aberdeen, there are some great routes to drive here and there are a couple of roadtrips organised through the westfield owners club one doing fort William, glenfinnan, Skye and the highlands end of june and clan McWesty doing applecross and the highlands weekend of 19 june.
the Caterham hire is nothing to do with me but his 7's are out a lot during the summer,
also on the westfield forum (you can sign up for a free trial) there are a few stateside build threads, again it may give you some food for thought
All the best Gary

Very cool. Thank you!

I need to put together a good game plan of what event(s) I want to make it to. This one looks like a good one, but I'm not sure my wife would be up for the "whole experience" just yet.
