hi folks the names stevie (Nimmo) a bit of car nut from Scotland
been wanting a project like this for ages now seen a ford based (Haynes) chassis and jumped right on it,
plans are mx5 donor car and build a new track day car,
once started i'll post away on progress, need 2 finish the classic car first! (nearly there)
I'm sure i'll be needing some advice along the way,

Hi Stevie and welcome, there are plenty of mx5 based builds around, so don't be afraid to ask questions , as we have all had problems and queries.
Are you starting from scratch and planning on building up the chassis? not sure from your post if you saw a chassis and bought it (sierra) if you have there are some differences around the diff cage with various options using the std diff complete with arms or by fitting a Talon diff case, all will become clear as mud..... but you will have fun getting there :)
Good luck with the build and don't forget we like pictures we do and plenty of them :)
oh and what classic are you finishing off, interested in that too
Welcome again, Gary

hi and thanks for the welcome gary, i bought a sierra based chassis mate already built, the forum has a really good squad off guys here that know there stuff,
restoring my 1955 morris minor the now, love the classics!
been doing a fair bit of research on the difference in chassis i'm quite handy with a welder and a grinder so am quite confident lol, and where I work has a really good fabrication department, happy days.
