Hi Folks
thought I better say hello, just stumbled on this forum by accident, would like to have a bash at building my own chassis, playing around with a dax rush chassis and either a rover v8 or a ford v8 at the moment but would like to build my own really

are there plans available form Talon or do you have to buy the kit of tubes/finished chassis

need a body too
cheers Andy

Hi Andy and welcome to the forum, you certainly can buy the tubes and cut them up yourself, there is quite a divide in opinion as to if it worth cutting yourself or buying a flat pack, I've cut my own and hope to be building this summer.

Talon certainly used to do flat packs and also fully welded chassis so worth giving him a call although I do recall him posting somewhere he was busy until the end of the month with family commitments.

Look forward to seeing your progress.

Bruce

Hi Andy and welcome from darkest Scotland, where abouts in the world are you as there is bound to be someone fairly close for help etc.
As above phil at talon has had some family commitmnts but is still advertising flat packs / complete chassis , give him a shout and see what his situation /time frames are
OR
get the book which has the plans in it and off you go, the Saturn "plans" are downloadable on here and give details of the changes required to use an mx5 donor
One thing I would recommend is have a read through some of the build threads , get a notebook and jot down ideas as you go and formulate an idea of what you want the finished spec to be
also don't be shy we don't bite (well not to hard anyway) and ask any questions you have and we will do our best to help out it really is a friendly site, post pictures as you go, 1 it gives a build record for iva and 2 it is often easier to help if a picture is there and most importantly 3 we like seeing what your up to :)
all the best Gary

With the new software it automatically puts new members into a 'new users' group that have limited posting access so it might be that, I've made your default group to be 'Registered Users' so should be ok now, you should see Private Messages in the top left just under the car.
