hi ,yes its been busy pretty much since easter time, its easy when the weather is good and you are seeing dramatic changes as you add suspension, drivetrain, bodywork.
Now its colder and wetter also a lot of jobs are "hidden and out of sight" so you don't get that visual boost. Also we have silly season round the corner , on a plus no snow yet......
I tend to plan jobs for the weekend through the week setting achievable goals, so that you feel you have got some progress.
The next big milestone will be first start up, a good way off yet I reckon :( , as I really like to make sure things are right as I go along so extra time will be spent on the wiring trimming and thinning the loom.
so next a battery s/c belt (now I know the size) plan the cooling pipes buy some more silicon pipes.... my list seems to grow not shrink :)
Anyway the forum is a great source of inspiration and for that a very BIG thank you
gary

thanks Bob , yep Phils' nose cone would certainly suit it , for any one interested its a vw Passat intercooler and fits really neatly into that area.
went out last night and shortened and rerouted a few wires round the engine, frosty dark and cold so didn't stay out to long, straight out tonight and marked out and cut holes for rear lights. Really limited to the weekends just now so things will slow down a bit. but with some planning hopefully I can keep moving on.
Going to lose 2 weeks at Christmas as were going down to Hampshire to visit relatives, cant really grumble as Trina has been really good about the time spent on the car and the craic will be good whisky, beer , turkey and Christmas pud sounds like a winner :)

well absolutely frozen but happy messed about finishing the manifold and got some alterations to the wiring (but nae finished that one yet...) firewall made battery in a tempory earth , connected the instruments turned the key and ............ nothing. :(
went over and over it, had coffee and more coffee. so went and rechecked it all and found 1 connecter off the back of the main fuse block, took it off to put through the firewall. reconnected it and the battery ..... BINGO lights on the dash and engine turns over. so T time. with a big smile :)
so hopefully tomorrow will run some tempory wiring to the pump and add a couple gallons of petrol and see if we can get fuel pressure and if so we will go for a start up  :D

ok so after working out ive fuel engine cranking but nothing else panicking that its an ammobiliser fault , I found 2 wires that should be connected so joined them and away she went a splutter and died an adjustment on the throttle cable to the 2nd tb and she is running. :)
absolutely awesome to hear it now I need to finish the cooling system and tidy all the tempory wiring.
