Well I've finally started my new project.
After stripping the donor, taking delivery of the chassis & a few other bits and pieces (thanks to Talon), cleaning some parts up, I etch primed them up, and now I'm just waiting to paint them up..
Next on my list is to learn to weld, add a few required pieces, measure and cut to size the aluminium, & maybe tackle the wiring loom...
I'm pleased with my progress so far, and considering I've got no previous engineering experience, I feel I'm gonna learn a lot in the next few months!!!!

Got to admit that I'm enjoying my experience so far...

A drop in loom could be an option, where are they available from ? And do you know prices ?
I'll probably attemp the loom, and if I mess it up I could always fall back on one....

Try http://www.rapidfitlooms.co.uk/ or http://www.premierwiring.co.uk/

Both come recommended

That's a great start and yes I would recommend a bought loom if they suit your needs
I used and modified (greatly) the original look and it was a challange to say the least but then it was the mk2.5 '03 one and I had to keep loads of stuff in it
Keep up the good work
Gary
