so i have the chassis built and welded just need to dress it up a bit, looking towards the floor, what is best steel or alloy , i am not overly fussed about weight and considering the corrosion of rivets in steel etc i am thinking steel floor. what thickness?

I used a 1 piece 2mm steel floor the local engineer cut it on the guillatine so all i had to do wascut out the V for the tranny tunnel . The piece left out of the sheet i used for the seat back panel i think it cost me £40 folding for the sheet and cutting

thanks for that , steel was looking like my prefered method, i have seen too many horror injuries with race cars and bits coming through alloy.

Stil use sealant between the frame and floor i riveted it on muscles like popeye after that lot !!!! Use countersunk ones along the side edge means you get a neater fold when doing your side panels.
If i remember rihht had enough to do the footwell panels too from the sheet.
