Been thinking about my next build and want peoples opinions

Next build will be sierra running gear for sure but cant decide what powerplant to use yet

My requirements are simples

Engine must be light weight high revving and powerful and not millions of pounds to buy just not sure what engine to plum for

Thought about bike engine but want it to be usable on the road

So question is what car engines will fit the bill

Although I do fancy a bike engine

After seeing a thread about the new 600cc Caterham - what about trying to get your hands on a Ford 1.0 EcoBoost engine? The turbo'd version gives up 125bhp - and apparently the version fitted to this (http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/ford/60038 ... egal-racer ) was banging out 202bhp...

Possibly a bit too new to get at breakers prices - although they've been making them for 18 mths now so there must be some pranged Fiestas about somewhere with them in?

just had a look at the ecoboost and may be worth some more investigation but only an option if i can make sure the gearbox will fit

also started looking at yamaha R1's figured that i can buy one, pass bike test, use it, then after i recover from the crash i will have on it i can use the engine from that :o

I posted on lcb about the ecoboost, opinion seems to be that as standard it'd be boring performance wise, it's also quite tall so might be tough to fit under the bonnet...

good idea on the bike although I'd prefer someone else to do the first few steps for me :-)
