How in the name of holy hell do you get the sump of off a zetec motor??
Undid the 8 bolts, and its dropped mayby about 10-15mm but wont come any futher, its hitting something hard? Ive removed the flywheel and that didnt help?
Ive given up for the moment, as I was about to seriously damage the engine/myself/the first thing I came accross in the workshop

I know ive missed something small, but I just cant see what it is??

Cheers in advance guys

Just been out looking Jas. I couldn't see anything other than the sump retaining bolts.

Was going to sugest, snagging the oil pick up pipe on the sump baffle plate. Bit late now

Have you a two piece sump or is it the bafle plate that you are trying to remove :?:

Mine is a 2 peice sump.
Ive been told to remove the bottom peice and then undo the oil pickup.
Ive now undone all the bolts on the metal pan, but it also refuses to budge!!! LOL
It seems like someone has stuck it on with a black glue gasket of some sort?
This was meant to be the easy bit aswell LOL Ahh well!

Ahhh I did't realise you had the Blacktop engine, mine's a Silvertop

Those steel pans can be glued on quite tight

Gently try to prise the cover off bit by bit Or try to cut around it with a Stanley knife. I prefer the bit by bit method. Using a Stanley knite on a sump pan is lethal
