I decided to paint my engine covers while I'm prepping up the new engine.

Here's my progress :)

Image

All rubbed down and cleaned with thinners.

Image

Primed using a high build etch primer. Left in the sun to dry fully. I left it a couple of days between coats.

Next comes a white base coat, this had several coats to try a get a decent coverage.

Image

Top coated with florencent orange.

Image

Lacquer over the top and cooked in the oven so I didn't get any runs or reactions.

Image

Black accessories to tone it down a bit.

All finished and fitted :-)

Also painted the oil filler cap black and the bolt heads :)

Hi Bob,

Acrylic paint mostly. A lot of its old 2K and 1K i had left over.

The black paint "tough black" made by Simoniz which I've used for my alloys!!
