Thanks, I shall turn up a breather and weld it into the top of the tank, to accept a piece of hose in an inverted U. Far cheaper than a valve!

I have built quite a few cars and this is an area that is going to get a bit more attention than in the past. On a jeep I built I made a simple mold for the filler cap that set the cap at a sensible angle and allowed the use of the standard cap, it was a bit rough and ready . That was money saved and no problems filling, the vent side of things needs addressing as well because there is nothing more unnerving than the constant pong of petrol when your driving so I am going to look out for a decent sized charcoal canister the same as on the doner car.

The charcoal filter wont need to be as big as the bmw one .
