Hi

Another question about the wishbones.

The original book shows the outter bush set at an angle of 98 degrees, the Saturn plan appears to it upright at 90 degrees.

Please can someone confirm which is correct.

Thanks in advance.

Dave

Both are correct for the hubs that they are intended for.
Standard book spec Sierra lower wishbone has a 8-10deg up kick to suit the maxi ball joint which is straight, the top wishbone has the same kick to accommodate the transit drag link at the same angle.
The mx5 lower ball joint is already set at the correct angle so the wishbone is flat, the top of the upright is pre set so the top wishbone can be straight.

Hi Dave , yes it is as per the book at 98 deg, just with the different threaded size as per the Saturn instructions ( M14 x 1.5 ) to take the bmw drag link
Regards Gary

Think you read it wrong phil was saying the lower wishbone is straight to accommodate the maxi ball joint

the upper wishbone is the one with the angle

The mx5 saturn wishbone is tge same as the book but with the outer thread changed to suit the bmw link

Hope that clears it up for you
