Hi Guys

I have read a load of stuff regards the correct size master cylinders for both the brakes and the clutch.

I don't have to MX5 ones so will be starting from scratch, can any body tell me what they are using.

I was looking to use a 0.7 bore for the brakes but am less sure about the clutch.

As always any help would be appreciated.

hi Dave I used a 0.7 one as per the Saturn guide but have a stiff pedal , not sure if its the m/c size or the pedal geo that's causing it. When I say stiff it is not unusable but stiffer than your average car.

Hi Gary, I have read that a lot of builders are using Fiesta MK1 master cylinders, they give very progressive breaking apparently.

I think ill do some more reserch as stopping the car is kind of important. Lol.

Hows your build going? I have 4 weeks before I get my body and theres still loads to do.

haha yes stopping is important , slowing down between corners or stopping to refuel
as mentioned earlier I seem to be doing heeps of small jobs, had a day doing stone work restoration today sandstone and lime mortar ... different and got to do a wheel bearing on the daily tomorrow. so no progress this weekend:(
Yes there is plenty to do before you get your body work. Just a thought have you got your vin number yet? as doing it after bodywork is a right royal pain.....

I am writing to request the issue of a Vehicle Identification Number for a newly built vehicle.

I am currently building a kit car (Haynes Roadster) which will need to have an IVA test. After speaking to the VOSA regarding the booking of an IVA test, I have been informed that the vehicle will require a VIN prior to the test.

The VOSA have advised against making up my own 17 digit VIN and suggested that I contact DVLA to have one officially issued.

I am unsure of the process to request a VIN and would like to request that you issue me with a VIN for the vehicle or provide me with the necessary information or application form to be issued with a VIN.

The car I am building is a Haynes Roadster. If necessary I can provide the registration/identification details of the parts used to build the car.
