So I took the roadster out for a blast last night, popped my foot on the clutch approaching the roundabout an dipped the clutch, only for,the pedal to,deform and drop she hind the brake pedal!!!

Fortunately I was able to coast to safety and free the pedal off and get home I'm NOW going to remake my brake and clutch pedals in 5mm plate rather than 3mm and I'd urge anyone making there own to avoid 3mm plate for the reasons of what happened to me!

Sounds like you had a lucky escape there Carl.

A write up on the remake would be good reference for future builders (inc me  )

Someone on the haynes site made their pedals from off cuts of the 25mm box. They turned out well and were nice and strong.
